Smoking is a dangerous habit and unfortunately, more than 2.1 billion people in this world is addicted to it. As tobacco is main content of cigarette, which contains nicotine, hence it is difficult to quit this habit. Many researches are been done to help smoker to quit this dreadful habit but only few people uses it to quit smoking. People think that smoking is injurious to their health only but the reality is that it is dangerous for them as well as for society and environment. Following are some effects of smoking on society and environment –

It makes others ill - many researches reveal that the people who spent most of their time to smokers are more likely to get ill. This is because they continuously inhale the nicotine smokes. If you are smoking near to the kids then you may ends up making them ill.

Chemicals – you will be amazed to know that more than 4000 chemicals are been released by the cigarette and hence the air pollution increases. Moreover, 15 mg of pollutant are been released by every cigarette which again pollutes the environment at rapid pace.

Soil pollution – a cigarette butt takes 26 years to decompose and every day a regular smoker left 3-4 butts on land. These butts create land pollution.

Water pollution - cigarette butts not only pollutes soil but also pollutes land waters as well. Many water bodies contain nicotine and it is the result of the cigarette butts.

Entice kids to start smoking – if kids are watching smokers daily then they develop a desire to start smoking, which is really a threatening sign to the society.

Try to avoid this habit and if you are smoking then please avoid smoking in the society. It would be great if you smoke alone so that others do not inhale the dangerous air.
